Asiatic lily question

Hello my Rocky Mountain gardenweb darlings!

I received a gorgeous Asiatic lily called Polar Star from Lizbest many years ago at a swap. It's stunning. It gets to be about 5' tall and produces the most beautiful double white blooms. Over the years, the bulb had increased from one to three. Well this year, suddenly, it increased to 8! My mom wants one. There is one at the edge of the group that seems like it would be easy to get out. I read that it's best not to dig them until the Fall when the foliage starts to yellow. What do you think? Should I wait or try to give her this one now before it blooms?
