I have no idea about the style of the pool and spa but IMO ask the pool designer about seating . I think if you go the bu=igger pool the bigger spa is nice . I acually prefer a hot tub near my master bedroom instead of the spa with the pool but I have grandkids who use the pool all the time in the summer so relaxing ina spa there would not be ideal for us.

Using a pool is tolerable because of the ratio of water & chemicals to bodies.

8x8 and no smaller. Provides room for taller people to stretch out with out knocking knees with another bather. Woks fine for shorter folks as well.

A 7x7 spa can typically accommodate around 4 people, while an 8x8 spa can fit 6-8 people. If you anticipate having larger groups of people over to enjoy your pool and spa, then an 8x8 spa may be a better option.
