paint color advice needed:) (SW Shiitake or Accessible Beige)

I’m getting ready to paint my main level (ceilings & walls and am looking for a warm neutral. I’m driving everyone in the family nuts! I hope y’all can help.

I need something that will work with the current trim/moldings which is SW Creamy. Cabinets are BM White Dove The island/pantry door is SW urbane bronze. Currently ceilings/walls are SW Nomadic desert (HATE the dark ceilings).

The house has a ton of windows/trim so there is a lot of light. The trim looks white to me and I’d like to keep it that way so I don’t want a color that will make the creamy trim look yellow or dingy. Also, the floors have to stay...I don't love them so I don't want a color to make the floors stand out.

I'm leaning towards SW Shiitake or accessible beige for the walls and white duck for the ceilings....but open to any suggestions. Just want something to update the space...greige, taupe or beige works.

Lots of trim/moldings all painted SW Creamy. Would like a lighter ceiling. SW White Duck?

I would like to save you some money...consider leaving walls as is and painting the ceilings White Dove. I like the wall color with the floor. I like the trim (surprisingly). So, get some more of the beautiful White Dove into the scheme. It will work throughout the house, based on what I see of the dining room.

I don't see changing the wall color will be an improvement on what you have.

I like Accessible Beige and Jogging Path. Be careful with trim and ceiling. If you go white-white, then your cabinets would look dungy.

I used Jogging Path for walls.

- Painting on the walls will be hard to cover up.
- Sampling color on the color you're trying to cover doesn't give it realism
- The samples are too small. Get bigger samples (paint cheap framed canvas from Michaels) and test them on all the walls throughout the house (being on canvas makes them easier to move.
- Purchase Samplize ($6/each) and use painter's tape to move them around.
It took me 6-mos or more to test samples. If you don't/won't limit your time then Accessible Beige will be the easiest to blend. The floor is brutal and if you go lighter, it will go darker.

I agree with @elcieg. Just paint the ceilings either White Dove and leave your current wall color. It works.

Great advice! Judianna20…I agree the current wall color isn’t bad. But it’s 15 years old and in need of repainting anyway. Plus my painters quote wasn’t much more to the include the walls.

Thank you Celery. Visualization,Renovation for the mock up! That confirms the need for painting the ceiling. I’m surprised how light jogging path looks. It seems much darker with the sample.
