So much depends on the rest of the lighting the actual pendant the style of the space so post pics of the choices already made for sure and so plans you have for the kitchen design . I would aslo be asking your KD not the architect but an actual independant KD since they are the ones designing the kitchen I hope

Scale, balance, and the amount of light required in a kitchen, rule this. Not just personal taste and transitory aesthetics. Your kitchen designer needs to do a complete lighting calculation and electrical and lighting plan. Once you figure up the amount of light required for the specific architecture, then you figure up the sources for it. Are you working with a kitchen designer who plans the interrelated whole? An overstuffed cabinet layout from a salesperson isn’t a kitchen design plan.
