I wish I had grandkids. Has anyone seen the Nugget kids sofa?

This is so cool. My cousin bought this for her kids to save the wear & tear on her sofa. I wish I had grandkids to buy it for. Kids can do all the things they want to do to the regular sofa.

Comes in lots of colors. https://nuggetcomfort.com/products/the-nugget?variant=40759055122632

One of the lady's in my mom's group bought this for her kids and she said they adore it. To me it looks fun but like it would take up so much space! Unless you put it in their bedroom or playroom, but B always wants to sit with us in the main living room so that wouldn't work.

    Love that!

My DS and DIL have had one for several years. Their children use it in a variety of ways almost every day. In their house, they live in the family room and the living room is the playroom!!!

You would need a good sized family room if that was the plan.

Some people buy a few and stack them. I would have loved this as a kid, would have built all sorts of things.

My brother and SIL bought one for their grand daughter who has cerebral palsy. She said that her GD really loves playing on it but that it does hog the room.

I wish they had that in a loveseat size! i would buy one for Andrew in a red hot minute. I bought him a loveseat for his playroom and am having it recovered with a narrow gray and cream ticking stripe outdoor performance fabric. It’s very cushy but it doesn’t come apart and reassemble like an upholstered Transformer.

Certainly looks the the more of them you have the fun exponentially grows! Still kids these days are home sooo seldom even basic furniture is a waste. Better to suggest it to the day care.

There is actually a program called Funding Classrooms & Growing Imaginations.

What a great idea! When my oldest son was in a montessori summer camp program I did a lot of the activities with the kids. I normally picked themes that involved building of some sort. A big hit was the Pyramids of Egypt. I used boxes. A few Nuggets with extra wedge pillows would have been great.

Kswl, you could always stack the Nugget into a big chair size.

Anyway, I think it obvious the Nugget is bringing out my inner child lol.

How fun is that. On Saturday mornings, if our parents had been out the night before they might sleep in till 8. They’d come out to the family room to see we had built a long rambling fort out of the Ficks Reed furniture and our blankets. Flipped on their side, upside down, just like thie ”Nugget”. The swivel chair was always at the front on its side, with the wooden base as the steering wheel. I guess our fort could ”fly”.

Bpath, I would have loved it at your house!

I remember building "forts" out of chairs and sheets in the living room when I was a kid. We basically made our own human version of hamster habitrails. Good fun!!

No kidding, Nugget inspired me to look for bigger sofas that have this same modular idea. I was desperate to find a sofa that you could convert into a bed that doesn't sag. Even if it meant a mattress-on-the-floor style bed, anything would be more comfortable than a sleeper sofa.

When I was a child, before my parents remodeled our basement, we had cushions that looked a lot like this that we stacked into a "sofa". They were actually foam that my father had sewn covers for to make camping sleeping pads as well as a "seat" in the back of my parents pickup truck. They had a small pickup truck with a shell where they'd added seatbelts and we could sit facing backwards. (Obviously this was a long time ago and this is really unsafe now.) We used to make forts and play with the cushions just like these. But, as others have mentioned, it was essentialy in a family room in the basement where my brother and I could play. Seems best for people with houses big enough to either have a play room or a big family room.

Ida that's one of those ideas that works only on a chalkboard! No day care I have ever heard of would take such a donation. They only deal in vinyl or the old Naugahyde due to germ issues and they would need industrial stitching. No these are marketed to the modern family with 1.2 kids and LOADS of cash for discretionary spending. Somehow the old couch cushions/chairs and blankets just are fance enough!!

My grands do have this in their basement playroom and they really do use it a lot. (very little sitting but lots of gymnastics and tumbling and performing on the "stage"). Oh and lots and lots of forts.

I bought a Nugget for my grands. I also bought the balance boards shown in JT’s picture with the pink puppy dog. They use those balance boards for so many things. The littlest lounges in it.

If you are thinking of buying a Nugget, be aware that the wait is LOOONNNGGG. And some colors take longer than others.

DD also bought the Make-A-Fort for them. They love putting it together and reconfiguring it.

As you can guess, they have multiple playrooms.

Bbstx, thanks for sharing the make-a fort. So many cool things on the market these days. All I need is some grandkids lol.

I thought this looked pretty nifty as well. It seems parents like it for their kids who are spaced out in age as it's easy enough for very young to a bit older. Magnetic building. This would be so much easier on the feet than the small clip together blocks. Anyone remember accidentally stepping on those with your bare feet?
