Furniture Ideas / Working with Modern Farmhouse Trim/Architecture

last modified: 3 years ago

I need help with furnishing my Modern Farmhouse with more modern furniture. I am Not into super rustic or even farmhouse furniture but trim and bits of its charm I like. If someone can even recommend a style of furniture that would go with what I have it would be much appreciated!

Details:

So we bought this 100 year old house almost a year ago and have been renovating. It's been done in a modern farmhouse style before us so we kind of continued the design in the trim and molding. However we were looking to upgrade and make it look more modern with the finishings and furniture. Exactly what type of furniture would you think is best? My original thought were something like Mid-century Transitional but I'm still lost

Included are pictures of the trim and paint. As well as the new floor color (the pictures of the rooms have old flooring still). Also included are our plans for the dining room fireplace but that I'm still open to changingFor the bathrooms I wouldn't mind some ideas as well to decorate and bring a little more warmth into them (especially the double sink bathroom. I was imagining a darker Sage green simple plant portrait to go on the blank wall to the left of the double vanity. Again open to suggestions)

We also have this oxblood couch (pictured is loveseat as we can't photograph the couch rn) and would like to reuse it as it's still in great condition and couches are expensive lol). All advice is appreciated! Thank you (:

natural lighting. Was thinking of doing black out curtains grommet style and very wide for luxury look and functionality

Lights on

New floors. Greige on Red Oak

To the left of this pic is a blank wall. I'm imagining Sage green simple plant portraits to add some color and a bit of warmth without it being too busy.

Bath 1 - going for luxury and spa like

Bath 2 - more modern. Was thinking of doing some shelves above the toliet but it's been difficult to find Forest Elm wood colored shelves to match the vanity

Current dining room trim

Not pictured - old fireplace on other wall. Looking to remodel and make like this:

Oxblood loveseat for look. The couch is a three seater. Looking to possibly fit in with the look by throwing pillows/blankets and also incorporating the color into other areas of the living room

Note: Living room where this couch is located will also serve as a kitchenette (it's a mother in law suite with mini fridge, microwave, small cabinetry and ANOTHER electric fireplace identical to the one I plan to remodel in the dining room). I was thinking white cabniets with a dark wood top to match/tie in the couch and white cabniet to match with the fireplace design
