White floors w/gray walls, or gray floors w/white walls?

My bathroom is in desperate need of refreshing, but don't have the money for a full redo. I'm going to use the Rust-Oleum home floor paint system. Trying to decide on which way to go with the colors on floor and walls. I will be taking down the large vanity mirror and doing two individual mirrors with the stenciled background like the photo.

@cpartist if you notice though, there are two main tiles that are a different color from the rest.  I think they must have gotten cracked or something and the previous owner replaced them, but they look quite off.

Id be tempted to a dark grey ”slate look” for the tiles and then get a runner or some type of rug to break up the floor - this is random but there are some great online makeovers for that shower frame type. Are you updating the lighting when you change out the mirrors?

You shower in it You come out clean? Brush your teeth etc and dry your hair?

Leave it alone until you can do it right.

The lights are dated, the faucets with 4 inch spread are dated, get some grout and fix the crack. Get a nice long runner. The mirror is glued, not just clipped... will be a big drywall repair. Save . Start a piggy bank : )

Maybe just consider doing a refresh.

For a relatively cost effective, plus easy approach - I would suggest just putting down a piece of sheet linoleum or vinyl, over the existing tile. You won’t have to rip out the tile, and you can bring in any color/pattern you want. And btw, this type of sheet flooring has come a long way; many attractive options. You could do one that simulates a white tile floor. I also like some of the wood looks and terrazzo looks. Your bathroom floor area is relatively small, so this should be a fairly easy and inexpensive option.

Change out the vanity lights. Lots of ways you can go with that, finish and style-wise; and I think that single change could really make a significant difference in the space.

You can go ahead and paint the walls, and maybe also change the faucets..

These small changes will fairly easily create a new room; and this could hold you over temporarily - or permanently.

Tans and browns are back to being used among the style setters.

Oh goodie. I'm a trend setter. Some of my house colors are back in style?

Seeing your bedroom and its cool neutrals, consider lighter finish for door handles. Choose lighting that makes it special to you. Runner over the floor. Just idea to blend chrome shower, etc... with dressy rooms -

A houzzer already said, so I'm repeating, but possibly taking 1 or 2 steps at this time could be it...

How about shower/lighting/mirror are 'cool' // then faucet/ handles 'warm' along with warm floor.

A good cleaning of the travertine, a grout colorant, and a replacement of the noche pieces with the ivory that should have been used, would give that room a fresh new look.

Not finished with everything I'm going to do, but painted the floor with Rust-Oleum home floor coating kit in the color Seattle Mist
