Kitchen accent tiles behind stove or no accent tiles?

Hello friends…..we are putting subway backsplash all around kitchen. The subway tiles have shades of brown, gray and blue. Questions are

1. should I do blue accent tiles behind the stove( from countertop reaching celing).

2. should i do blue accent only like a square behind stove

3. Keep simple, with only subway tiles all around is same direction with no accent

4. Accent square with same subway tiles arranged like square in herring bone pattern. I gave gold faucet. so thinking to do golden square tile border with same subway tiles arranged in different manner. one thing i am worrried is will horizontal strokes design will good with diagonal strokes in herring bone pattern? May be this will be nice accent?

5. Accent tiles from top to bottom reaching celing with same subway in verticle manner and all around horizontal manner.

- Counter top is white Quartz with very light grey veins.

- No island yet, but planning to do blue island.

- All other cabinets are brown currently which may change to light griege

in future.

Attaching few pics. Kindly suggest!!! Thank you!

Agree. your tile already has a lot going on - that will be too busy.

I feel the same millworkman and Iharpie. Would you arrange the same tiles in different way to create square of herring bone accent behind stove (no. 4 question) or accent from bottom to top of ceiling using same tiles in vertical manner (no. 5 question). Thank you!

Repeating what’s been said, no accent of any kind behind your range. Your backsplash tile is busy. Therefore enough with embellishments, nothing more is needed with your backsplash tile. And that narrow skinny multi-shade blue tile is dated 10 years.

Another 'no accent'. It's a dated look and you'll regret it. With your particular tile choices, would be much too busy. Let your backsplash and counters be their own stars. It's a lovely kitchen - keep it timeless.

Thank you all! Decided to do same subway tiles throughout the kitchen.

No to all discussion of accents. This is a very busy tile, and running it wall-to-wall is plenty.

I like the blue tile that's standing up over the stovetop better than the brown-varied color.

Is the yellow wall staying? It's warm, and the proposed backsplash is cool. I don't like them together.

Thank you Mrs. Pete. The yellow wall is not staying. Even I dont like it. It will eventually be some kind of white or griege color or blue in future. The cabinets will be painted to some shade of white, pereferbly with gray undertones or very light gray. What kind of grout will you choose for these tiles (subway tilews) - White or Gray (Keeping in mind white countertop with gray veins, cabinet white or light gray and blue island).

No accent with this tile. (I am not opposed to accents because they are "dated". Accents are fine. But not here.)

Your backsplash is pretty gorgeous with your current cabinet color. I'd be tempted to just clean the cabinets up really well and spend the money on something else.

Thanks Fori! Cabinet colors are staying for couple of years. Not changing yet. I am tempted to change becuase my kitchen is west facing and gets less light afteroon onwards. So brown looks very dark in natural light. White or light gray might make it more bright.

Question for you- Which grout color would you choose- White or light gray? I worry white may break the beautiful blending of paint brush like strokes in the tiles. Let me know.

Hello call, which grout color will go with subway tiles? White or Gray! Let me know the reason. Thanks.
