How can this asymmetrical porch look inviting and modern?

Without seeing a wider view, I would paint the door black, remove the welcome sign and install a larger light. A large plant would also be nice.

Some pretty pots with greenery will add some warmth to your entrance!

The items you use to decorate now say "country" to me. Remove the welcome matt and welcome sign. Install a new light fixture that has a modern twist, and house numbers that match the style of the sign. Paint the door black. Add a large colorful pot of flowers/plants in the corner, and center a narrow, black sleek bench on the right side. If you need a matt, get a rectangular and center it in front of the bench.

I would consider putting a chair under the porch light (maybe wrought iron?), and fixing the concrete on the step below. For the entry, a different mat or rug, depending on what is going on on the right side of the concrete. The proportions of the mat don’t work. I would look at landscaping to the right of the concrete to fill up the space without taking up valuable passthrough room.

Maybe a low square table to the right of the entry to help with moving packages in and out of the house. The table could match the chair. The the shape of the welcome mat would work, but you might want something more design-y.

You would have to experiment with the space to figure out how to balance it without bumping into things.

Patricia Colwell Consulting, that makes perfect sense for you to need to see more of the house, unfortunately that is the only image i can provide at this time. However, I will say that the exterior of the house is traditional and the colors (beside the res brick) are tan and the trim is beige.

Sammie J, thank you! When you say ”sleek bench,” is this what you have in mind? https://www.2modern.com/products/frame-bench?variant=869497085&gclid=CjwKCAjw6fyXBhBgEiwAhhiZsq89rTuLxh01xOGcOt2jbaog3EQPq2C0QpibBkm-h44ZGqn9QOdRRBoCy48QAvD_BwE

kelli_ga, thank you for your input! I love the idea of a wrought iron chair under the light. You hit on an important problem that I have in this porch. Space>_<! The small area to the left of the door, under the light, is only 43” wide by 25” deep. I will shop around and see what i can find!

I can’t say enough of how i apreciate everyone's help!

A chair won’t fit in 25” depth. Maybe a plant. A chair won’t have enough room for someone’s feet.

Will a chair fit to the right of the door? or maybe a garden stool?

I’d be concerned that a bench might scooch over the edge of the concrete.
