Having Heck of a Time Finding an LVP Floor (Photos)

Okay, for some reason, my "dilemna" did not post! I am wanting new LVP to replace vinyl in kitchen and carpet in familyroom and livingroom downstairs. The kitchen and FR are connected. I was hoping for a cozy look, but the color of my cabinets (which I actually still like and cannot afford to replace or paint) is causing me to choose lighter colors. I would appreciate anyone steering me in the right direction or commenting on any of these floors (gosh, there are lots to choose from!). Only kind comments please. Thank you!

I agree with @shirlpp, the third one is the best. Be careful when putting a new layer of flooring down on top of another one. It's possible to trap your dishwasher such that it can't be removed for repair or replacement without taking off the counter. This happened to me (the previous owners of my house did it), and also to a friend of mine.

    I agree,,,this one.

'bring in a nice runner too.

have you thought about selling your fridge and using that money to buy a counter depth matte black one? (or even SS) I think it would make a huge diff in how everything looks. the cabs aren't bad, but the white fridge sticking out too far doesn't help.

check on cragislist or other sites for slightly used ones. you can find great deals on floor models or door dents too.

The other option would be to build a surround for the fridge (basically enclosing it on the sides) in matching wood stain to the cabs

Take a look at this one. she made her white one this black, built in look.

This floor is going everywhere so how do those samples look in the rest of the space s> IMO you eed a ton more lighting in the kitchen before choosing flooring Cahange all the bulbs you have to LED 4000K I can't tell if you have pot lights but those too if they are there and if not at least a 5 head track light with those bulbs. Then come back with all the lights on a see which works best .Right now I like #3 it looks the most real and works with the cabnets but the lighting could be having an effect for sure .Yes I agree the DW and the fridge need to have the new floor under them The fridge is not usually an issue but the DW can be.

Also ..to shop …. take a door off and carry it with you as you look….calculate how much space you need to cover …..and shop at places like (floor and decor?) to get the best prices and to be sure the color is right …in the same light…

Look for flooring with a little grain texture for the most realistic finish

Thank you all. I have lived with that refrigerator sticking out for 20 years and never even noticed it! But, we will be needing a new one and I will keep that in mind. I cannot believe everyone picked the same floor (and it was my least favorite, so now I'm thinking!). I have always had an issue with lighting in this kitchen. I will definitely update my pot lights with the 4000K. I had always bought "warm" ones. Gives me lots of food for thought! And, yes, I have a runner. It just doesn't show up in the visualization photos. As far as the floor stretching into the other rooms, I was wondering if something in the "brownish" range would work. Here is a sample I just picked up, but I can't use it in the visualizer. I know I would love it in the other rooms.

I’m going to pile on option #3 as by far the best one you posted. The others have a gray cast which definitely does not go with your cabinets (which are very nice by the way).

My opinion (everybody has one of course!) is you need some bold color in your kitchen. For a rug, a table centerpiece, maybe even new pendant lights. Pick one - red! hunter green! cobalt blue!

I like your kitchen. Looks homey.

Make sure whatever you choose for floor is the same everywhere not just the kitchen

Should I take the counter into consideration, though, when picking the floor. This is why I thought the "brownish" one (here with counter) might be best. Here is photo:

stick to 3-3.5 inch traditional oak. the wide planks ted to be a more modern look. your kitchen cabs are traditional. the wide looks odd. go back to number three and if you can find a lightly different tone that might be fine but the width is better. floors do not need to match counters. if you want something else try vinyl squares in a slate look which is a traditional or transitional theme.

The wide plank looks obviously fake.

I would narrow down to 2 options and spend the money buying a box of each. Lay out each box in several rooms and then make your final decision. Yes you will waste one box, but well worth it when you are using it throughout your whole house and plan to live with it for many years.

I did that with my engineered wood floors and it made the final decision so much easier.

The wide plank is the worst one. I think 6 responders have said that #3 looks the best.

Another vote for option 3. It looks like it belongs there, even Photoshopped.

Thank you everyone! I went to the flooring store yesterday and they are ordering me a sample of the flooring in Photo #3. It is so confusing now picking out anything because there is so much available to see on the internet! My head was spinning. So, I appreciate all of you so much! Hopefully it will actually look like the one I photoshopped now, or I will be back LOL!
