Bay window treatments on stained glass, with radiator below

I've got a beautiful room in the front of my home that will be likely used as a little reading room. it's quite shallow and the edges you see in the frame are sliding doors (also w stained glass)

The sun can be quite bright and at night we'd like a little privacy so we're trying to decide on window treatments. There's a radiator under the right window, so I was thinking to have curtains hit just above there. If i'm not doing drapes all the way to the ground, should I mount the bay window curtain rod jsut above the frame? or close to the ceiling?

baywindows confuse me and with all the extra stuff, would love some pointers! thanks :)

Wow! Beautiful! I'd look at simple shades with a very small stack so they disappear when not in use. Maybe top-down/bottom-up shades. Less is more.

Cafe curtains would be nice and suit the period. Such beautiful windows! Plantation shutters might be too “heavy” looking given how delicate those windows are. Even lace style would look pretty. If you want shutter type, look at Silhouette style treatments. You could do honeycomb up and down style too. I suggest you get a rep from Budget Blinds or Smith and Noble out to help you. They can measure and show you just what options and price points are available.

Exactly cafe curtains. This is a common look for those gorgeous windows!

Curious, for those suggesting cafe curtains, how exactly will it work with all those windows?

What happens when OP wants to open a window?

    Beautiful Window!

I would recommend the decor in the picture below, it's a perfect match! Half of the shades with curtains are matched to show those beautiful windows, but also provide privacy.

(Unless I'm missing something....) This works the same way it works for any other inside-mounted curtain; you slide each panel to its respective side. Lace is used because when each panel is slid over, it is thin enough to minimize gathering up on the sides. Then open the window.

Again, it's possible I could be missing something, lol. In which case, I apologize! :-)

    I love those windows!

I would not use drapes. Cafe curtains make me think of kitchens, although I expect there are some that wouldn't look "kitcheny"

When I first read the post I thought the type of blind (Roman?) that is fabric and can be drawn up or lowered as needed, in a gauze, sheer, or vintage linen-weight fabric; place over the lower half only.

What Nicetown Curtains posted is the look that I was thinking of.

If you can't find any ready-made, I bet you could find a seamstress or tailor to make them.

I adore cafe curtains, so that gets my vote:

But if you’d prefer panels, they could look charming, too. I see this style in a lot of European homes:
