Kitchen Floor Transition with Hardwood Floor

The floors in entire house are oak hardwood. What's the best way to make the transition when using pre-finished oak wood on kitchen floor. We don't have a budget to install unfinished floor, then re-do living room, dining room and hallway to match kitchen floor. Thank you.

Create a threshold or border (if it is an open floor plan) in a different, contrasting wood.
