Design ideas for large wall with open staircase

Hi All! I am hoping to get some ideas for a large wall that goes up our stairs and overlooks the main living space. We are going to replace the current 80s staircase with a sleek, matte black iron rail (simple and streamlined) and will be painting the walls a warm white, and will be replacing the outdated lights with more recessed ones (new flooring will be going in as well). I am wondering if a statement chandelier would work in the middle (circled in red) or if it would look out of place just floating on its own up there? The wall is so large that I don’t really know what to do with it (concern is I don’t want it to look too busy since its open to main living space) - my thoughts were maybe statement chandelier or some sort of artwork? Our walls are textured, unfortunately, but we do plan to remove the popcorn ceiling, at least. Would appreciate any ideas:)

Can you take a pic from further back showing the whole staircase and the railing over looking the space . I usually love state,emt chandeliers in stair wells but I need to see you exact situation

I think the area is too busy with the doors (up and down stairs,) the vent and all the breaks in the ceiling, corners and that beam/bulkhead. If you're still going to have a fan as you have now it is just all too much. Ignoring it and letting the new stairs be the interesting feature would be my thought. Decorating below door and window frames, where the people live, is always best, IMO. Focus attention where the action is, not on an empty wall far above people's heads.

If you have a need to light the stairs better, sconces are usually used in these situations. We had a railing just like that - just changed it this summer. It looks so much better!

@Patricia Colwell Consulting Here are some different angles. We are currently doing updates throughout the house and the decor (so the fan will be replaced with something newer once I find something I like, and the mirror and small console table will be removed). Although, I haven‘t found one I like yet. Hopefully the pictures help. Did you want a pic from the top of the stairs looking down into the space below?
