DS and I saw an ad for it…in unison, we said, ”Survivor?? I cannot believe that is still ON!!” We have (obviously) not watched it since about the second season.

I'm a fan, too sushipup but will catch it online the next day - America and the Holocaust will get my time on Wed night. Honestly I never enjoy the beginning episodes of Survivor and only get invested about half way through.

Tonight will be a two hour show. Jim goes to bed at nine, but I'll watch it all.

We’ll record it, thanks for the reminder Sushi. We started watching again last year after years of not seeing it, but I’d forgotten when the new season started.

And Amazing Race is right after Survivor.

Oh, great! I forgot about that, too, thanks!

DLM2000-GW, I found it tough to watch the first episode of the Holocaust documentary in the evening. Restless sleep that night. I'm downloading the PBS app today to watch the other 2 episodes this weekend.

@Judi I totally understand that and honestly I should probably do that but not sure if watching it during daylight will help me sleep better. Who knows. I do know I must have been grinding my teeth like crazy last night, though. Even my Invisalign couldn't help and I have some sore teeth today.

Big fan, my sister and I would be on the phone with each other and try to predict what would happen. She's gone now so I feel she is with me in spirit.

Ok, we finally sat down to watch both … good episodes! I was sad about who went home on AR, and who was voted off Survivor.

I’m not a fan of the Survivor part where three people go to another island and do the risk/no risk thing. Wish they’d go back to the old school playing.

It struck me how clean and fresh everyone looked at Tribal Council. In the old days, even early on, they looked dirty and haggard and hungry. 😆

I was in my 20s when Survivor started — starting to feel old now watching these young kids! I think it was much more challenging back then, regarding food and such.

    Yayagal ❤️

Jinx, they get NO food now, unless as a reward. They all say it is harder. And as far as looking clean and fresh? Just wait, it's only been 3 days.

Judi, That was so interesting! It's amazing how many cameras are constantly filming. My daughter was host for a pilot on the travel channel and it was filmed in San Francisco. We tagged along for part of the filming and were surprised how much goes into making the final show. They filmed four full days for a half hour show. Unfortunately the show didn't get picked up but it was fun watching it on tv after seeing it being filmed. I suppose the contestants of AR just forget the cameras are there after a while. It was hard to follow along due to the scramble, I hope that's a one time thing.

The last time I watched an episode of AR was back when they were in Australia and a man passed out and fell into the firepit. It was the only episode I watched that season because I heard about it online. I think I watched the first 2 seasons and realized: it's not reality. It's all scripted. Same with Amazing Race. Weird how they all end up where they have to be within a couple hours isn't it??? The only "reality" show I enjoyed was The Mole, trying to figure out who was sabotaging the contestants. I think it lasted 2 seasons and that was it.

Judi, that video of the Amazing Race was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing. I have often tried to place myself in the contestant's shoes on both Survivor and AR and wonder how I would react in a situation. I don't think I could maintain my cool, unfortunately. I kept trying to get DH and our son to apply for the AR, I thought they would do great. My husband is definitely a Macguyver type who seemingly instinctively can figure out a way to do something the most efficient and easiest way and my son is sharp as a tack with a photographic memory and language skills. They were never too interested but now that hubs is retired......ha ha, he is probably not physically able to run around like that anymore. I know I'm not!

Yes, thanks for sharing that, Judi! I like that they don’t do second takes, we see it as it happened.

I saw a snippet of my all-time favorite challenge — the cheese wheels. I laughed so hard during that, my sides hurt. :D
