Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt......question

I have a question about this story.........if anyone else has read it, please give me your insights.

Tova refused to believe that her son's death was a suicide.

How did Marcellus, the octopus, help her with this heartbreak ?

I thought I had the story set in my mind, but then a friend who'd just read it had questions about this and I found I wasn't absolutely clear what the answer was !

Her son's class ring. Go back and read The Very Low Tide chapter. It's actually a summary of all the parts to the story. It should answer your questions.

Winter.....I came to the conclusion that Marcellus wanted her to know she wasn't alone and that she had a grandchild ....right ?!!

Yes...but the grandson is, also, the key to the mystery of what happened to her son. Adding too much info in reply to your question will only spoil the book for anyone else who might want to read it. As Shelby Van Pelt is a new, young talented writer I'm hoping she'll be adding new creations soon. She needs "followers".
