Still feeding the birds here… Here is a finch and red crossbill having a snack at my feeder.

We are finally starting to see some birds. Been a quiet bird spring! Don’t know why. Chickadees coming to feeder and I suspect there is a threat of some kind nearby. My sister who lives about 40 minutes west of us has had nesting on her covered patio and has seen many cardinals. Hoping we see some cardinals this year.

Any birds outside your windows Seajay? We got a downpour twice in last couple days. We need rain but not all at once! May the sun be shining on you Seajay. We miss your wit and design excellence! Keep your spirits up. We are with you!!

Flo, do you have a Wild Birds Unlimited store near you? I get many cardinals and they seem to really like eating from a tray and the WBU 'No Mess Blend'. The WBU seed is more expensive than that from the big box stores but there is no filler in it and nothing ever left on the tray nor on the ground so I think it's worth it.

Jayapple. Yes, we only get seed from our Wild Birds unlimited store. We have used Safflower seeds for years. Cardinals usually prefer bugs etc from nature. But lately just aren’t seeing many birds. I may try what you suggested. See if a change in seeds makes a difference. We aren’t getting hummingbirds either. Had plenty on our last house which is a stones throw away from this house! Can’t figure it out.

Hi Flo yes I have a bird feeder outside my window and I see many cardinals one I have named “sissy “. I have many titmouses too. My schedule can be pretty hectic some days. I try to keep up but it’s hard when you guys constantly contribute and I have to run to keep up 😂

Some say after that big storm in February, the birds changed their “flyways”. So may be next year before we see much.
