Primary Bathroom Reno - Paint Color for Pewter Green Vanity

Hi there! I am hoping some designers and fellow renovators will take pity on me and help with my primary bathroom reno since I have no idea what I'm doing. It started with a green vanity and built out from there. I'm going for a slightly modern aesthetic (grandmillenial, if you will). I picked out tile and settled on Moen fixtures (still need to finalize the finish). I'm at a loss for wall paint. I used Benjamin Moore White Dove in most rooms in the house but I'm not sure if it is the best option here. Some details and photos:

Vanity: 84" pewter green vanity with white quartz countertop (photo is not accurate - there is no veining). The hardware can be swapped out.

Floor Tile: 12x24 Suave Oro. My hope is the veining will bring some warmth to the room.

Shower Wall: 2x10 glossy white herringbone

Shower Floor: 2" hex snow white honed marble

Fixtures: I'm leaning towards brushed gold. I don't love chrome or brushed nickel, and I think black for the shower, tub filler, and sink faucets will be a little too much contrast against white shower tile and a white bathtub for me in the long run. The door nobs and hinges throughout my house are black, including the bathroom door, so I'm thinking a large black framed mirror would work with some black sconces. We are also putting in a towel warmer which will take up a significant portion of the wall next to the shower. Rather than trying to find an exact match to the brushed gold, perhaps we do that in black as well.

Any thoughts on wall paint color and fixtures would be greatly appreciated! I am totally open to a non-white color on the walls if it complements the vanity. I am concerned about matching so many different whites between the quartz vanity top and various tiles.

    What are your favorite colors?

That green is a neutral (as is most greens) so depending on what colors you like, you could go in lots of different directions.

Whites are notoriously tricky, so you might have trouble finding a white that will go with the all of various whites you will have. You don't need to pick a paint color until everything is in (except the toilet - it is a lot easier to paint before the toilet is installed). You can sample various whites, but if it were me I would be looking for a very pale green that goes with the vanity. Get some paint chips from your preferred manufacturer that come close to the vanity color and then go up the chip to the lightest version. If that is still not light enough, have the paint store cut the tint in half. Sample, sample, sample. The lighting in the room will affect how the color looks.

Sorry but modern and grand millenium are opposite sides of design <yabe look up grand millenium style and make sure that is the look you want. I did that because I had no idea what it was. Can you post pics of all the choices you have made and are in there now. IMO no mixing of metals in a small space and for sure not black with that vanity. I think it GM is the style get wallpaper for sure.

I like colors build as I walk through a home. The main living areas have neutral walls and color is added through art and area rugs and décor. That gives me the color palette that will flow through the home into other rooms. Your going through a hallway (neutral) into the bedroom and from the bedroom into the master bath.

What colors are flowing through the home? How will this room relate to the colors of the art in the hallway and the art and bedding and area rug in the bedroom?

Bathrooms and laundry rooms are my favorite rooms to add intensity and drama, but they still have to relate.

If you haven't chosen your accent colors yet @cpartist asked the quintessential question "What is your favorite color?" Everyone has certain colors that just make our hearts sing. Theory is that these colors are associated with happy memories, but science shows that when we see certain colors our levels of dopamine actually rise and we feel happy. Those colors are the colors you want in your home. You want to wake up in the morning and see colors that brighten your day and make you feel happy.

just want to point out that the color will look different depending on what temperature bulbs you're using ( if you're using led lights). So if you're using very cool lights, it might look nothing like the photo examples that were taken in a warmer light.

@Jennifer Hogan @Patricia Colwell Consulting @kandrewspa @cpartist Thank you all for chiming in! To answer a few questions and give some more collective context:

    1. I whole heartedly agree with the dopamine hit when I am surrounded by my favorite colors. Not surprisingly, my favorite color is green, and it is the wall color in my bedroom (the room leading into the primary bathroom). The walls of my bedroom are BM Avon Green, which is quite dark and I love it every single time I go in there. While I would love to paint the bathroom walls green as well, I think it might be overkill, especially if it's a different tone altogether. I would love to do wallpaper but the choices are ENDLESS and I'm worried it will feel overwhelming to the eye.

    2. I agree that Grand Millennial style is not very modern and I'm not describing this very well. If I had the time to research and money to spend, I'd go this route. The feel of my house is a bit more of a moody modern in style - I'm not sure what to call it. Maybe modern farmhouse? Our floors are natural white oak. Our kitchen cabinets are navy with black handles, to give some context (a bandaid fix for some 90's era yellowing oak cabinets from the prior owners).

    3. I've read a ton of articles on mixing metals and i've looked at many pictures of mixing metals in bathrooms specifically, and I'm not sure I agree that you can't do it in a small space. The bathroom is gutted right now so I have no photos to show of what is actually in there. I did post photos of the vanity and fixtures in my original post.

Can you share some pictures of your bedroom, bed linens, art?

I am just thinking that if the bedroom walls are similar in color to the vanity, then the bathroom walls could be similar to the bedding.

I always love the homes where someone flip flops the trim color and wall color between two rooms. Kind of the same concept with switching the wall color and linen colors.

@Jennifer Hogan I love this idea! Perhaps we do the green trim in the bathroom. That still leaves the question of the actual wall color...

Our bedroom is kind of a disaster - our furniture is a mishmosh of cheap pieces from city living in our 20s and we haven't gotten around to updating and upgrading yet (which is also on my to-do list). The only piece we are actually attached to is our bed frame, which is from Room & Board. It has an ivory/oatmeal fabric-covered headboard. Below is a photo of what it looks like - it's slightly darker in real life. In terms of art, the only piece we have on the wall in our bedroom so far is a large framed batik Budda we got on our honeymoon - photo below. I wouldn't necessarily use this is a gage for color though. I also took a photo of the green walls against the white doors in our bedroom.

My favorite color is green too. However I agree with you in that I wouldn't necessarily paint your bathroom walls green too, so...

What is your second favorite color?

I love color and I think if it were me, I'd choose a pale peachy pink that isn't saturated for the walls to complement the green of the vanity. But then again, as mentioned lots of different colors would work.
