Need advise on kitchen window treatments

Looking for ideas on what type of window treatments to get for my kitchen. Want to keep as much natural lighting and the outdoor view. Have these small half moon windows to deal with and kitchen is not large.....thinking of valences (as I usually have) or sheer blinds or maybe something else? Appreciate some suggestions, please!

You really need to show us the rest of the kitchen so people can provide fact-based suggestions.

If that wood trim is important, then select shades that extend both up and down.

    NO VALANCES!!!

Looks like you have a lovely outside with all the trees. Do you want to control the light or do you want privacy? I love that you have so many windows/doors, but it looks a bit choppy with the wood toned trim. Beverly gives some nice choices. Simplicity is your friend.

Thank you for you input I love the light and we live in a rural area so need privacy sometimes

Nice shades that go up from the bottom. No valances and I wouldn’t cover the half-moons unless you have someone next door in a two story house.

Since your husband is a carpenter, have him change out the arched windows for ones that match the height of the others.

    Nice space!

Curtains would be an easy choice. The door and the half-moon windows just need two panel curtains, leave it open when you need lights and views, pull it close when you need privacy.

Or I would say stained glass on the arched windows would be a good choice. It fits the style of the kitchen, and it will keep the natural lighting as well. It just will block part of your outdoor view. The half of the square window could use top down bottom up shades shade, for keeping the outdoor views. Hope it helps!

The arches are such a nice feature, and I like your wood trim, too.

Your style looks to be charming country/traditional/vintage … is that a direction you’d like to go for window treatments?

Can you show the other side of the room? Do you have curtains, blinds, or shades anywhere else?

Thank you for the comments. I do like the wood trim and the ability to see the outdoors without any neighbors! It is wonderful. I have curtains (panels) throughout the rest of the house and also wood blinds in the bedrooms for privacy. I try to keep the open look. I was looking at zebra shades as a possibility to consider but may have an issue with the half moon windows because of the lack of wood for the brackets. Appreciate the comments again!. .

I like the idea of a vintage look … shades with pull-down rings or cafe curtains, for instance.

With cafes, you could hang them higher than the halfway point, if you’d like.

Or make curtains that fit like this:

    Bamboo blinds might work:

I feel your windows need charming (and still functional), rather than utilitarian. I would not go over/cover the arches with anything.

^^ love cafe curtains - you can inside mount them so you don't cover your trim. (there's a home in my neighborhood w/ a fabulous vintage kitchen that has cafe curtains with ball fringe - so charming) There are lots of choices - https://www.vermontcountrystore.com/curtains/category/kitchen-curtains

I was also wondering about bamboo shades for the texture. And I agree with @Jilly not to cover the half moon windows with anything ~
