Can anyone recommend a replacement for my central vac accessories? I have a Beam/Electrolux SC389a unit. My original hose, wand and powerhead were replaced a few years ago (needed a replacement 1 day before a large party and purchased through my local sew & vac dealer). I knew it was going to be a quick fix - no brand names on anything and it was cheap. The power handle on the hose fell apart and the wand never really fit well. The powerhead belt routinely fell off if anything is caught. I used to have a quick release wand, super lightweight, & adjustable settings I could change with my foot. If anything was accidently in the path and was grabbed, it shut off the roller brush.

Now, my needs are different - carpet on 2 levels has been replaced with hardwood floors and area rugs but my bedrooms all have plush carpet. I am much older now too and would appreciate a lightweight, easy release and comfortable handle.

I would only like to hear from people that use and like their central vacs - I know many people don't or prefer other methods of vacuuming. I have this system, I love it and will continue to use it. Comments that aren't helpful - well, they just aren't helpful.
