Design Dilemma Living Room Remodeling

Any ideas on what to do with this wall?

we have just started renos and are having a hard time figuring out what to do with this entry way wall (pictured in bottom photos). do we make the entry way bigger? scrap the wall all together? or keep the wall where is?

the sectional will sit closer to the window. the Tv will be on the fireplace and the wall on the right (2nd pic) will be gone, opening up the space. Help! we need ideas

You already have a ness so get rid of the popcorn ceilings . I wiuld keep the wall I like a separation between the entry and the rest of the space BTW from what I can tell you do not have room for a table at the banquette and stools at the island .

I like the wall left there too. The separation when guests come in, and hang their coats etc, is very nice to have. I would leave it just like it is.. I agree, you have things tore apart, so go one step further and have the pop corn ceilings removed.

I think you could add Ikea floating shelves x 3 on the right side and leave the TV on the left as it is in the short term. Perhaps later you could mount the TV and have a floating cabinet to put the audio visual stuff in. Pic is a guide for the floating shelves. Also I would get a size smaller than the width of your space so they don't look like built ins. Keep us posted on whatever you decide!

Janelle, thanks for several images of your room. I'll assume the doorway into the space is on the wall opposite the TV otherwise that would be the best location for the sofa. I would advise gently editing the decorative elements currently in the room before deciding on what to add. You have some interesting pieces and you are not getting the best impact from them. If you want to email me your room dimensions (a length and width will suffice, and please indicate the location of doorways and windows) and rough measurements for the furnishings in the room I would be happy to work up a floor plan for you. :)

Hi I always like an accent wall of embossed paintable wallpaper. Not so sure you need it though if you get : 1. One piece of oversized art and either a wall shelf or wall sconce on both sides. 2. @Patricia Colwell Consulting popcorn ceilings are being scraped tomorrow-one thing in very excited about too. the island is 3ft now (this was an older photo of the plan) so table will work

You're saying to possibly expand the entry? How?

In your mockups, it looks like the sectional will extend beyond the wall. If so, then what is the point of the wall?

@Patricia Colwell Consulting the wall is there right now to offer that seperation from the front door to the living space.

I would leave the wall but would also replace the front door. No sidelight and center a new door in the opening.

It is a smaller entry, so you could extend that divider wall so that your sectional has a wall behind the entire thing.
