What to do with a cabinet stuffed with photos from last 12 years of family.
Comments (1)Photos are hard to get organized if you ask me. Once they get out of the little album or envelope it's history, But..... the whole point of photos is to enjoy them, they really don't have to be super organized, you just want to put them somewhere they can be gotten to which yours apparently are. :-) I don't know how many you have but would it be a fun family project to get everyone together and get some baskets and go through the photos and sort them according to date or occasion or however you want to. It would give everyone a chance to review them and maybe write dates on the back or a note of where you were. I think it is wonderful that you have this for your children. It sounds wonderful that they have access to this. I had mine stored in a low cabinet and lost them all when our house got flooded in Katrina. So just enjoy them and your family!...See MoreDoes your Christmas Tree have a theme this year?
Comments (13)This year the theme is "crud, we had to move because our landlord made sewage flood the ground floor" because I'm spending my holiday with my friends who just moved back to the area because, well, landlord. So since they won't have much moved yet or unpacked, I'm loaning them my pre-lit tree and some plainer ornaments and coming up with easy craft activities to make more. (They have a kid and will be moving in while the tree is up, so I don't want to risk any of my nicer/more sentimental ornaments, but the kid has to have a nice holiday I figure.) I think I might buy a couple of boxes of those plain shiny colorful ball ornaments and some paint pens and distract the kiddo with that while the parents do house stuff....See MoreLast year for my pond
Comments (7)Oh, it is such a beautiful pond! Unless you really aren't attached to it, maybe look for a way to keep it? It isn't terribly deep and in a short time grandbabies will get bigger and it will be no danger to them (well, except the danger of getting wet and dirty!). And they will love it, small kids always adore water and the critters it attracts. If you are really nervous about it, perhaps there is a way to drain it and use the spot creatively for a few years, until you are comfortable letting the little darlings be around a bit more water? A sandy zen garden tucked inside? A rustic or Asian wishing well structure covering it? A very large container with a tree? But if you do take it out, there is no doubt you will make it a beautiful spot since your garden shows amazing skill and taste!...See MoreNo Christmas tree this year
Comments (63)We bought a small potted tree from Lowes for half the price of a cut tree. It went on a low side table. We've already been looking and plan to do the same again this year, probably a blue spruce which can be planted in the yard come spring. A lesson in saving the forests for our now 1st grade granddaughter. I also tied glittery wrapping string/ribbon (not sure how to classify it) from the curtain rod and hung my mom and grandmother's old glass ornament balls. I'll try to remember to take a photo this year....See Morepuglvr (9B)
