Not sure on ideas to look wider but consider painting that ceiling same as wall and cover ceiling in wood that compliments with the wood door.

I hear you! Ever since I saw pictures of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, I've been thinking about how I could get away with it. Do you want to make a window exactly opposite the one you have in the same shape?

If you didn't have that beautiful door, I'd suggest painting it a light color to bring it forward, making the room wider; can you paint the small grey thing upper right to match the wall?. What do you think about painting the side walls the blue you have for the trail and make the trim ceiling white to bring down the ceiling and make the room wider?

DIY mirrored wall

I like the idea of a full mirror wall too! And I like the ones celery provided. Are you interested in a full mirror or a pretend window or some other shape?

First thing is to paint that gray/blue stripe around the ceiling. It’s emphasizing the room’s narrow width and making one feel as though one should duck when entering. The whole wall and ceiling should be the same.

do you have other pictures of the space? Is this space going to be the living room? I would first focus on how this space will function, then the furniture layout. I suggest this because you do not want to install a beautiful mirror, only to find out that the tv will have to be placed in front of it. Focus on the size/depth of the furniture, window treatments, floor coverings, & THEN decide where a wall treatment/mirror might work to help give the illusion of a less narrow room.

What is this room going to be first of all? Is it an entry? Is that the front door to your house? What do you want this room to be? From there I can help with a layout and we can put furniture, rugs, etc. As for the wall, paint that strip the same color as the walls, ceiling too. Since you have square tiles on the ground, I would steer away from using anymore squares on the walls, unless it is one or two. Once you say what the room will be and if you want furniture in it, we can go from there.
