Kohler Whitehaven 30 inch Farmhouse Sink - gap too big?

Hi! I am looking to install the Kohler Whitehaven 30 inch farmhouse sink with the tall apron (9 inch front). My 30 inch sink base cabinets have a 12 inch flat panel they will cut into so it will leave a 3 inch gap between the cabinet doors and the sink. I am worried that the gap will look too wide, but can't find anything I love as much as the Whitehaven. Would love any feedback if you think the gap would look weird or if you know of similar sinks that have a 10inch apron.

Possibly adding a drip rail under the sink would help to minimize how the gap looks?

Add a filler overlay with a tall drawer panel scribed to fit.

The gap is too large and it will look funny. Get the 36" Whitehaven please. More sink and it looks better when the sink ends alighn with the doors:

Joseph, I think the 3" gap is between the bottom of the sink and the top of the doors.

I was considering the Whitehaven, then I realized that the cabinet opening (access) would also be small (and low). I considerd installing custom taller doors or a filler to improve the look, but the small opening in the cabinet would make that cabinet less useful to me, so I ended up not getting a farmsink because I was going to have the same problem with an alternative farm sink unless I went with a short apron style which didn't appeal to me. I ended up getting undermount.

Consider too that the 30" Whitehaven is a smaller model and the floor of the Whitehaven is smaller than you might realize, due to the interior slope on the backside of the apron--so anything that sits in the bottom of the sink will be farther away from you than you might realize and there will be less floor space inside the sink to multitask.

This is mine. The Whitehaven is 36” with the tall apron. It never occurred to me that the extra space around the sink should be an issue.

And this is my old 36” Whitehaven with short apron and cabinet. This was a retrofit. Relocated all to laundry room.

Thank you all for the feedback! Yup, that is right the 3 inch gap is under the sink. We are limited to a 30inch sink unfortunately so that is the biggest we can do!

@nycbluedevil_gw Your kitchen sink looks beautiful! It is so helpful to see the picture - everything I am seeing online makes it look flush to the cabinet door (or very minimal gap) and this looks great!

Here's a Kohler 30" Whitehaven sink we used for a client's kitchen. Looks to me that the gap is roughly an inch to an inch and a half. Could you have custom doors made for the base cabinet that would close the gap a bit more?
