higher end all-weather wicker patio furniture

I live in MA and my yard is small, shady, and urban.

I’m looking for a round patio dining set that’s comfortable with chairs that are attractive from behind. The most
attractive chairs seem to be all-weather wicker. Mine would have to stay outside year round as we do not have a garage or enough shed space. I could cover them in place. Some examples of what I’m considering:

How is yours holding up to the elements? Does anyone have theirs outside over the course of years? Any brands to recommend highly or to stay away from?

(Also, I’d probably do a teak or marine grade polymer table, not wicker, glass, or concrete.)

My teak table and chairs are now 16 years old and still look good. My expensive woven ones not as good good. good luck there to s to choose from

Orelucca1, I’ve had a big teak set in the past. I loved the table, but the chairs not so much. They were very heavy (thick) and hard to sit on for any length of time despite cushions. Wondering what my options are for chairs that are both long wearing and comfortable?

why don't you go with a teak table and try the wicker chairs I love

that look go mid grade price

and if they last 8 ot 9 years years thats fine

For an outside uncovered area I would choose powder-coated aluminum, with either sling or removable cushions for seating. Easy to move, easy to clean, easy to store in the winter. Lots of colors for the frames and soft surfaces.

I like wicker, but even all-weather wicker will trap dirt, pollen and dust if left uncovered. And then you need to clean out all those crevices that trap the debris. I have wicker in screened porches and teak in a covered deck. Out by the pool lightweight aluminum with slings--when they get dirty, I just hose them off. They dry quickly too.

Look at Brown Jordan, Woodard and Tropitone.

Got mine from Home Depot, had it outside for six years with no issues. It is covered in winter. Haven’t even had to replace cushions.

Make sure you get covers for them when you are finished using them before the cold weather sets in.

I'm not sure there is such a wicker set- mine is woven, and older not wicker. Ditto the suggestion for Brown Jordan pieces. Mine is an estate sale find complete with additional side tables for two of the chairs not used for dining. My SIL bought all for her waterfront home. She isn't usually one to buy 'previously loved' but these were aging so well. The chair legs didn't work with the board spacing on her dock where she's planned to use all TEN pieces and she was concerned someone older might 'tip' scooting a chair back when she was entertaining. They came here.

Our weather is mostly wet in winter, no so much harshly cold other than a very few days.

HomeGoods is jammed with outdoor furniture right now.

@diana bier thanks for pointing that out. We do have a lot of trees and I’m already feeling like I’m always cleaning stuff off of things. I figured a quick bang/shake and hose spray every once in a while would be enough but maybe not??

@jan Moyer thanks for alerting me to off-site storage. I didn’t think of that. We don’t have a storage unit or a truck but I gather it’s a service offered by some resellers.

At our last house we had trouble with a tree that partly covered the patio which dripped sap on our outdoor furniture. It took a lot of scrubbing to get the residue off. So depending on what kind of trees you have this could be an issue for you. We have had powder coated aluminum (I think it is Brown Jordan - it was ungodly expensive) which stays out all winter and we don't even cover it because when we did the wind would tear up the covers. We do bring in the cushions after every use so they have never been out in the rain. The set is almost 20 years old and I'll probably have it another 20 years. The chairs are very comfortable. I think either spend a lot for something you can keep a long time, or get something cheap and replace it frequently. It might be six of one, half dozen of the other.

Our patio includes a mix of materials - cast aluminum, teak and faux wicker. We also include storage to contain cushions when not in use. The storage containers also serve as end tables. Much of the furniture is more than 10 years old. We store the faux wicker during the winter but the rest remains outside.

@fnmroberts that’s a lovely space! Mine is much smaller. I’m just looking for a 48-54 inch round dining table and 4-5 chairs.

I have a bluestone patio, kind of modern looking but also New England looking. My biggest issue is creating privacy against too close neighbors.

    @kandrewspa interesting about the wind!

My husband liked the “Bazza” cafe set from Telescope Casual. Aluminum, MGP, and sling. And stackable. It was comfortable and stackable but we didn’t like the color that was stocked in the store and it wasn’t at all what I’d been imagining but I’m still thinking about it.

I have maples, Japanese maples, redbud, and will plant maybe a flowering cherry tree like they have in Washington DC. A ton of helicopters fall from the neighbor’s huge maples.

A patio store guy suggested the Kingsley Bate Milano chair to me. I haven’t sat on it. Anyone out there know this chair?

And following is the Bazza set that seems to match (although not the one from the store and I’d get a round 48-54” table.)

To me it looks better from behind than most sling sets. This is important both because the yard is so small and the backs of the chairs is what I see from the house and from both entrances to the garden.

Sorry my post reads a bit out of order. I’m in the app on my phone and it didn’t line up how I intended.
