IMO the drapery panels should have started at the ceiling and the beige is all wrong for this room.

You don't really need pillows until everything else is in place. The curtains don't work in the space. The TV needs to be moved so it can be watched without getting neck cramps. What is to the roght of the cross?

IMO the drapes do not work and the rug is too matchy I think one with some color in it would be agrat place to start for drapery color /As for pillows IMO those vome last and I aslo think if you need to move pillows to sit then there are too many pillows

Tv is also being replaced. It cracked during move. I have an open area next to where crosses are on wall. The curio is in a corner I’m not sure if that’s the place for it. We lost our eldest son 5 years ago and I keep all his favorite things in that curio and his urn. We recently moved from a condo to this house, hardest step I’ve ever had to make aside from losing Joe. I feel peace here, so I really want to create a space that’s warm and feels good. I was unsure about rug? I feel excited about decorating, finally feel a little bit of joy in this house! Just need some help with ideas. I’ll send more pics . Gives better idea of how rooms look . Ignore the boxes and things on floor. This is dining room I think a small table with four chairs. Again, curtains are getting removed .

This is kitchen with a small area I’m thinking maybe a high table with 2 chairs by window but unsure since it’s a walkway. Those white chairs are temporary and so is table.

I think you should incorporate come decorative pillows and have the drapes match them. It will add great warmth and texture.

I'm no expert, but to me the rug is just overpowering. I would go for something a bit softer. Unless you want to balance it out with more heavy items like the very dramatic black themed art celery showed in one of the visuals.

Thank you Katrina, I might put rug in another room in back. I wasn’t sure about it once I got it but it’s really soft and maybe once the art work is placed on wall. But I’m still testing it out

I appreciate everyone providing feedback. It’s so helpful and I love the ideas! I might put rug in another room. I feel like I should have a softer color, not so bold loud . Maybe more lighter colors, I just loved the rug so much it’s thick and comfy. But, too loud for this area I’m thinking.
