Note: Don’t worry about “matching” the picket fence. A fence is a fence. Wood trim is wood trim. People expect a picket fence to be white. Your trim need not match it.

I love the combo of sage and cream. It's very popular in my town. For whatever reason we have very few red houses. I'm in the PNW. In Massachusetts where I grew up, there were a lot of red houses.

Yeah, a fence might be a fence, but seeing yours match that trim color is really pretty special. What color do you intend to paint the shutters if you go with red or with green?

Brick red!

Sage body, cream trim, burgundy windows.

And paint the Belgian block a neutral sand color to blend with the stairs.

Do you have any photographs of the house from an earlier period? You might want to search and, if you find the original or near original color pallette use that.

Another vote for sage … btw, in my previous neighborhood one of my neighbors had their house painted in a deep brick red, it looked terrible after just a few years, faded badly, we have a very sunny climate ( So Cal ).

I’m a fan of green as well and if concerned about sage blending, could go a bit darker (even use two greens, white trim and red door). If possible craftsman styled pillars would be a nice addition.

I like the look below, especially with your new roof choice, but I think that the fence‘s color and style has be considered and this wouldn’t work.

White trim is needed for sure.

Hi Sandra, I think it's lovely when a house blends into the landscape rather than being a dominant feature. That's one reason I do not care for blue homes, even though I love blue!

I love red, but it does fade.
