Hi I'm planning to import a sansevieria green mermaid to add to my personal collection.

I've NEVER actually seen a green mermaid or heard anyone talking about it in my country and I know this is a more commom cultivar in the usa. (Unfortunately I can't import one from the usa bacause of my country's pest-related regulations, burrowing nematode <radopholus similis> to be exac.)

I contacted an indonesian nursery and they say they have it and sent me this pic.

the color pattern looks exactly like green mermaid, but I am not sure about the shape. The leaves should curve inward and not flat. I think this may be a banded nelsonii? Hope someoen here can help me ID it.

More pictures, the color patterns looks exactly like green mermaid but the leaves do not curve inwards. Of course this is a gorgeous plant, but just not what I want. I am really onfused right now. Phytosanitary Certificate and delivery fees are exorbitant, I really can't afford to buy the wrong plant.

Looks like 'Whitney' to me, which I got @ Lowe's or Walmart.

This is my Green Mermaid when I received it several years ago. I have lost a lot of it to root mealies. It no longer looks like this.

This is what it looks like now. You can see the damage at the base from the mealies. I am going to repot it soon.

I have read that Green Mermaid is another name for Banded Nelsonii.

Thank you Nancy for the link. Copied it in my Sansevieria files. I see so many new names for plants that we once called common. The name 'Star' used on so many hahnii.
