It's your bedroom, no one but you SEES it so it really doens't matter. It sounds like the rest of the furniture won't be used longer than you need to so why would you worry about if the match? Get a bed you LOVE and build the rest around it--even if it takes years.

I agree with *arcy-gw, get something you love. No one does matching bedroom suites anymore.

Thanks - I am not trying to "match" it - just wondering what other types of metals/upholstery will work with this dark of a wood. I should have made it more clear that even though it's not our first pick, we will be using this for a long long time!

I like this bed because it works with the rug and the legs (which will show) are a dark stain to work with the furniture.

If you are up for it, consider painting the walls; change the draperies and bedspread. Go lighter.

Wall color...?

Thank you! The wall color is accessible beige. We have poured a ton of money into this home and a total remodel of this bedroom just isn't in the cards yet. I'm talking a total gut job - AC, furnace, electrical, ALL flooring (even in finished basement), painting of entire inside of home, all faucets, all new landscaping, replaced ALL lighting except this room and new bath/shower. A lot of it done ourselves with pure SWEAT and tears! New kitchen cabinets and countertops will be before the bedroom. I do love the idea of new knobs on the furniture. Just ordered new mattress. Room is fine for now and we just need this bed.
