Well thank you all! I didnt realize others could see that photo because I can’t. 🤔 I would not have tried that top on either, Ded, if it hadn’t been styled just as I am doing. Makes me wonder what else i am missing…

That question mark doesn’t budge on my ipad but after your post, Outside, I tried to open it on my phone and saw it right away! My ipad is almost six years old and while it still updates, sometimes it doesn’t display websites very well. Maybe a new mini should be part of my travel wardrobe 😁

As to the photos: I can see the picture of you in your closet with no problem on my iPhone. but on my iPad, it is a blank with a little square in the middle. When I click on the square I get the picture but in an odd aspect ratio.

FWIW, I think the cut on your shoes is called d’Orsay.

Bbstx, you may be right— I have a few pairs of D’Orsay style shoes, including these black lace ones (this is a poshmark photo). The cut is the same but they don’t have a strap, which makes them difficult to keep on your feet unless they fit perfectly. (I wear very thin gel inserts in the heels of these to keep them on.) I thought a strap automatocally made any shoe mary jane, but mine in the photo are definitely more like these than the ones you pictured.

I do like a pretty, feminine shoe. Since I don’t wear heels higher than an inch at most, I have to really search for appropriate evening shoes.

Such a pretty blouse and it does look lovely on you. I can easily imagine you wearing that to dinner or a reception or even as a hostess top. Seeing it on the hangar does not do it justice - I would have passed by too.

Now you’ve got me falling down the Google rabbit hole on what makes a Mary Jane shoe a Mary Jane shoe. Here is a definition from Wikipedia which seems to fit what I see when I hear the term: “closed, low-cut shoe with one or more straps across the instep.”

My shoes are happy to officially join the D’Orsay ranks….. I’ve had these for at least ten years and hope to replace them with something nearly identical. Searching for ”mary janes” would not likely have yielded results, thank you Bbstx! 🙂

Adding: I just read through this thread. I took a Viking cruise fall 2019. I wouldn't worry too much about your ipad? Unless they have updated the wifi GREATLY, reception was pretty awful onboard. Dress was casual for all meals, and seating was random. There were four of us, and unless we arrived very early to dining we were stuck at a table for six or eight. I felt as though I was in college or at a cocktail party every night- where are you from, blah blah blah. Not my idea of fun. YMMV!

Oh! My! I would find that fun 😂 I love casual. My idea of casual is sundresses and pretty sandals. I also love meeting new people and finding out where they are from.

@njmomma: Not true! I love meeting new people. But, the meet and greet at EVERY seating did become tiresome after a while- for us, at least.

Adding: a few days in, we had people "joining" us that we had already met. They were also tired of it.

You look wonderful! That is such a perfect outfit and I'm very happy for you that you found it. I just love when an outfit comes together and I feel good in it from head to toe. While it doesn't make my confidence it helps :-).

I got an external drive and put a million movies on it for DH. I had enough time to do that however not sure if you do. You can hook up an external drive to an iPad but I think it takes an extra device if I remember correctly? DH and I each had a laptop with us. I had a small external device for myself.

Isn't it funny how attached we are to our devices? I think I should take a vacation away from mine! I didn't even have a mobile phone until after 2004 or so I think. My own laptop (not the school-issued one) was much later than that. Amazing. My son and DH are addicted to theirs. I am pretty tired of it!
