Thermatru Exterior Entry Doors - Fiber Classic or Classic Craft

I'm replacing my front doors with a 6 light double door, and am not sure about which style to go with -- the Classic Craft or Fiber Classic. I plan on staining the door through Thermatru in the Raven stain.

Classic craft is about $11,000, and the Fiber Classic is about $6,600. I know the Classic Craft is higher quality, but would love to hear from people who know more about these doors to know if the Classic Craft is worth the extra money, since it is significant. Thank you!

I will give my opinion about our newly installed Therma Tru fiberglass Smooth Star door (triple locking). It is well made. I picked out the specific door I wanted on the Therma Tru website. Our carpenter special ordered it though a local Therma Tru dealer. I can not comment about the fiber classic or classic craft Therma Tru doors. However, I am quite impressed with our Therma Tru door. Our carpenter loves the quality of Therma Tru. We painted it with Behr’s paint, color “Baby Spinach”.

we also went with Therma Tru Smooth Star door for our build. Very happy with quality of door and the rain glass option. No complaints!

What did you decide on…? i am in the same boat…classic craft or fiber classic in raven, 3/4 glass. its so difficult. The showrooom guy pointed out the the woodgrain in the less expensive one looks more like wallpaper…but in raven, i dont know it will come across like that…perhaps the black will mask any ”fake” wood look. Perhaps the trim moulding around the the glass on the more expensive one looks more upscale?…but will anyone else really focus or notice that? and is the glass bigger on the more $$$ one? what did you ultimately decide?

We ended up going with classic craft. I saw a bunch of reviews that the fiber classic looked like plastic and was very light-weight in person. I love the doors we got. They are beautiful, heavy and we’ve already gotten a ton of compliments. We also did the granite glass which is very opaque and great for privacy.

@Jenna how is your thermatru door holding up? Especially with waterproofing? People seem to have faced issues with rotting.
