It is one of many species that are from higher elevations in the mountains of India, Burma, Thailand, Viet Nam, China, etc.

I seem to do well with the cooler growers here in foggy San Francisco. I don’t heat so the real hot-house ones do nothing in my conditions. Oh well, go with what goes well.

I am using a couple of commercial miticides, but no sulphur. I may add it to the rotation; what brand do you like?

If you have good conditions for stoneana I can share a cutting if you’d like.

iochroma, you are so generous to even offer! Thank you. It sounds like it might do well here in Colorado. But I really don't know.

Commercial miticides are fine I'm sure. The one benefit of sulfur is that it seems to be something hoyas appreciate as a nutrient in addition to be effective against the flat mites. I'm using the Bonide sulfur powder and i just mix some (about 2-3 tbsp per gallon) with water and then spray that. In fact, I'm plotting another treatment as soon as it cools down a bit here before it's too cold to be taking hoyas out.
