Adding well water and fountain to 3/4 acre pond

I installed the fountain and put the koi in the cages 3 months ago with no lost koi till yesterday when I added the sprayer bar from my well and lost 2 fish within 24 hours. The sprayer bar was at 100% pressure (1-1/4"pvc) so I reduced it to 50% and opened up the ball valve to spray the other 50% well water into the lake since I need to fill the pond. I also have a large aerator stone in each cage to help move water within the cages.

I also seen a bream with bulging eyes today swimming on top of the water, which I never seen that before?

Could adding the well water or high power sprayer bar cause any problems?

It shouldn't but don't you have pretty acidic well water, like 5.5 or so? How different is that from your pond? If there's a big ph difference it may harm them. Ph should be adjusted gradually.

A month ago or so my pond and well water was around 5.7 ph when we had a ton of rain and yesterday the pond has dropped 10" due to the lack of rain the well water was 7.8 ph and the pond was 6.6 ph. The GH and KH of the lake was 1 drop and my well water GH and KH was 6 drops from the test kit.

So maybe I need to fill the lake farther away from my koi cages?

Not sure why your well water would have a ph swing like that. It should be pretty stable. Why are you losing so much water? A leak? Evaporation? You added 100s of Koi a few weeks back, right? Losing two is not an abnormality. Might just be a coincidence.

Not sure about the ph unless the water test I bought or my test kit form pet store are off?

The pond as far as I know is lossing about 5\8" from evaporation each hot day. The pond is about 60 year old and the last owners let trees from up around the pond. I have about 350 koi in the cages now mostly 4-7" and about 50 koi 7-11".

I lost the 2 koi from the same cage which is 5'L x 3'W x 2.5'D and it's my most crowed cage with 245 koi from 4-5". The picture above in my 8'L cage with the larger koi.
