I have an 8x10 under a queen size bed. If that is your bedding then I would choose a green from the quilt.

I think like jck mentioned, you might need an 8x10. You could tape it out to see.

If you prefer a solid, I think anything in an earthy tone would look good — olive, rust, muted blue, etc.

Kind of liking the Loloi Indra Sage (green is my favorite color) and the Moenave. But you know what, the Karam is growing on me, I would have never gave that a second look only because I get tunnel vision when looking for stuff like this. Your terrazzo is so nice I would put a small high quality shag rug near where you step in and out of bed, big enough to hold your slippers and that's it.

A King bed frame is usually close to 84" wide. An 8 x 10 rug means you barely get 18 inches step out space on each side, so 9 x 12 is much nicer if it fits.

Buy two 4 x 6 and save some money. Even two 3' x 5" does the trick. You can't walk under the bed.

I see no reason to have a rug under a bed and IMOboho and terrazzo are 2 very differnt things. I love terrazzo floors but IMO bedrooms should be calm and so for me the whole space would be nice in tones from the floor and nice sheep skin rugs on either side of the bed for feet in the morning.

I, too, would probably buy a smaller rug for beside the bed to step onto and leave the majority of the floor uncovered. But Jilly posted some wonderful options for larger rugs.

So my original thought was to place a runner in the large space in front of the bed, I guess just to add some additional character to an otherwise bare floor. Then I learned that a rug partially under the bed was standard... a runner would not "connect" things. I understand having something located at the bed exits have function, but would a 2.5 x 8 runner in front of the bed be a decorating faux pas?

I don’t think it would be a faux pas at all. And would be functional, being in front of the doors.
