Since you live in Seattle, there are lots of folks up there who grow roses. Maybe you could join a local rose society, and tell them of your interest - roses have or are setting hips right now, and I am sure rose society members will help you. That way you will know where the seeds came from - (what kind of climbers, colors, etc), and you will know that at least the parent roses like the climate where you garden.

Also, you should be aware that, just because a rose is of a climbing habit, there's no certainty the progeny will be climbers. Unless, of course, the parent is a species.

This will take years to get good sized bloomers.
