Did you try the Early American/Weathered Oak combination? What stain did you end up doing?

Our bona choices (goal was light/weathered) all pulled orange. Had to have them resanded after color was applied. unfortunately had to go dark to combat the orange. we used driftwood and i do really like it other than normal dark wood floor complaints. (i. e. dust,footprints)

Early American/Weathered Oak combination on a red oak dresser.

We did end up going with a 50/50 blend of Duraseal Weathered Oak and Early American on our Red Oak hardwoods. Our contactor uses Loba 2k and we upgraded to the Loba 2k AT waterbased poly in Satin sheen. We love the look and feel of the poly! We are happy with the stain. We like that it definitely cuts the orange and has lightened the floor. The natural reds and yellows do still come through some, so it’s a “warm” color stain and if you don’t want that then this isn’t the stain combo for you. If we were to do it again, we might have tried adding in like 1/6th part special walnut or provincial to give a little more brown, but overall we are happy and it coordinates well as the hallway leads up to our kitchen which has natural light/med cherry cabinets and ivory tile flooring.
