Vibrant, to the best of my knowledge, is just a marketing phrase for ”not shiny,” as in Vibrant Brushed Bronze, which is one of my favorite finishes. That said, you can hardly go wrong with Kohler. I have never seen Kohler chrome fail.

Chrome is the one finish that doesn't change with time. It's been used for about as long as we've had indoor bathrooms, for like 100 years. Nothing comes close to it as far as looking good--it will outlast your tile, your paint job, and probably your fixtures! If you want to keep to a budget, you can't go wrong with polished chrome. It will also be easier to find reasonably priced accessories like cabinet and shower door hardware in polished chrome.

Looking at the Kohler website, "Vibrant" doesn't seem to mean anything other than a name. Some Vibrant finishes are matte (Brushed Moderne Brass, Brushed Bronze, Brushed NIckel) and some are shiny (Rose Gold, Polished Nickel, Titanium, French Gold). Perhaps Vibrant finishes are PVD? Meaning that they have a special coating that keeps the metal from tarnishing. I couldn't find that on the website, maybe someone else has more info.

I have Purist in my Guest bath and will be installing it in my Master bath when I remodel. Polished chrome. LOVE IT! The Guest bath faucet and shower/bath combo was installed 10 years ago and still looks (and works) perfectly. I opted for Chrome vs. polished nickel because I have found that all PN are NOT alike, but PC can be matched. PS: I went with Restoration Hardware Dillon for towel bars, etc. They go well with the Kohler Purist collection.
