Need HELP! Pool, Rain and Dirt gets in the pool

When it rains continuously, the dirt gets in the pool by the water that comes from the grass and plants. In the picture you can see that it was raining and the dirt already got in the pool. You can notice the difference in color of the water in the jacuzzi and the pool. I need suggestions to make a fix. It is driving me crazy in raining season. Thanks for your suggestions.

It looks like from the picture that the pool is below the grade of the yard, which would explain the ran runoff into the pool. Only solution would be to have the ground excavated, dirt removed, and the yard re-graded away from the pool, and the house. Also, if you did that. Would consider a French drain system designed to take the water out of your yard by traveling Nader the concrete walls. Really the only way to get the water out since the walls create a type of holding box for the water.

The pool was built below grade of landscaping. Hence problem.

I would have a professional landscaper look at it.

    Possible solutions:

-excavate dirt behind pool and remove all plants and regrade. Drains would have to be installed for outflow through wall.

-seat wall built in front of the landscaping, so that water stays within its own bed. Again, drainage would have to be carefully considered.

Drainage channel between grass/garden and pool edge.

The number one problem is the pool being built below grade. The pool and the pool deck were built improperly. I would consult the pool and deck contractors and make them address this issue. This results from contractors who do not know what they are doing. We stopped a contractor last year from trying to run the water back in for the pool. The pool must be higher to run water away and off the deck.

Nice looking pool/yard. Poor planning on someone's part.. agree that the drainage issue could be easily remedied with some french drains and plantings.

I would avoid grading down at that wall, you're likely to undermine the footings.

Put in a low wall between the pool and the back grade, maybe work off the steps of the hot tub. That would allow you to grade the back soils down to what looks like a huge yard drain next to the swingset. If that's not a yard drain, put a deep french drain right there to take the sheet flow that doesn't drain to soil. Or just extend the wall long enough to get the grade in the back to direct the flow to a point in the yard lower than the pool.

eoow! who invited rain and dirt to the pool party. In addition to the french drain you could cover the grass with heavy duty weed block and mulch with river rock, and scatter in some more plantings. That would help seal in the dirt to keep the drains from clogging. Near the pool, river rock is easy on bear feet.

Or a trench drain for surface water, similar to the driveway drains but along the curve of the concrete. Look to water more heavily for a year or so as well. The root structure of the grass should hold the dirt easily and it may not be rooted deeply enough to hold the soil. Deep watering encourages deep root growth.
