If you want to make good use of the shelves closer to the ceiling I think pendants will get in the way. Look for flush fixtures, or just install recessed lights.

We are looking to buy a tall 36" wide about 15" deep cabinet for the left side when you first walk in, a 40" - 50" lower only for same wall, but other side of window that will go under window a bit not covering heat vent and then a narrower tall cabinet for other side of window on right wall(not by enterance). Not sure what we are doing on right wall when you first enter since that is the wall behind the door(door opens into pantry on the right wall). I would really like farmhouse style pendant lights . they dont have to hang down very much and can be quite small. Don't know what else to do that would be farmhouse style.

I’d suggest adding one 2 1/2 feet from each end (using up 5 feet, with 5 feet in the middle for a good balance). Regarding a farmhouse style, there are endless choices, but consider how the lighting will meet your needs. Semi/flush are practical or if it had a chain, can be shortened.

When I first saw these DeVOL lights I loved the look, but it depends on your pantry’s feel. The style has taken off, so there are variations and lower prices now a available.

Dont know if there are small semi flush in farmhouse style.

Arent those lights above a bit big if doing 2 lights or do i want that size? Also, i like the older country style or rustic farmhouse style

Consider putting in a dimmer switch for the lights so you get the brightness you want as needed.

I think a 10-12" light is about right for your room width of 48 inches.
