Fingerprint resistant coating / LG French door refrigerator worn off.

The clear fingerprint resistant coating on our LG French door refrigerator has begun to wear off at the base of the door handles. No caustic cleaner is used to clean the doors. I've exhausted discussions with LG Customer Service, asking if there is a clear touch-up product that could be applied to the small spots, to help them blend in. No. They don't. However, I was told I could purchase NEW DOORS (!) to remedy my problem. Does anyone know of a fingerprint resistant touch-up product that I can use on our stainless steel doors? Thank you.

Next time plain old stainless and learn how to clean it properly . Any coating has the chance of wearing off . All you needed ever with that coating in a cloth and warm water so I have no idea what you used but there is no way to fix that that I can think of .I have plian old stainless appliances all 16 yrs old in my catering kitchen and still look like new and never used a stsinless cleaner either.

All I ever used was water and a microfiber cloth. There was no option for just regular stainless, which is what we really wanted. Thanks for your thoughts.

I have the same issue happening in the same spot. And also did not use caustic cleaners. I really like the LG refrigerator but not sure if this is worth it. Also happened at about 3 year.

It's unfortunate that plain old stainless is very hard to find these days. I'm about to resort to SubZero to get a quality, plain old stainless, counter depth fridge that will work well in my space.

Mine is doing the same thing after only 3 months. Thanks to this post, I see it's not just me. I've only used a microfiber cloth on it too--no cleaning solutions. I bought it from Costco, so they've initiated an inquiry for me with LG (this all happened this weekend, so I don't yet know the outcome).

I just discovered the same thing happening near the left door handle of my LG French door refrigerator after only one year. I have only used warm water and a microfiber cloth to clean and dry.
