Faucets from Etsy

last year

We have been going nuts trying to decide on a kitchen faucet for our kitchen reno. My husband and I liked the looks of unlaquered brass and were looking at some on etsy, running about 600-700 for faucet, side sprayer, and filtered water dispenser. Has anyone actually bought from etsy? Soemone else said an unlaquered brass for that price will be junk (eek that seemed expensive to us!). Kindof thinking how bad can it be? Also was shopping through https://www.brassna.com/collections/kitchen-faucets for similar price and 5 year warranty?

No experience with buying facuets off Etsy, but the very first thing that went through my mind when reading your post is safety. I'd be concerned about unsafe lead levels in faucets when buying off a site like this (or Ebay), there's even been reports of faucets with unsafe lead levels with cheaper faucets being sold on A**n. IDK anything about that company, but anyone can put up a fancy website and sell a good story, but have the faucets been tested for safety? There is a poster here that is very knowledgeable about faucets, I hope he sees this can chimes in.

There is an article from Architectural Digest from years ago about stripping chrome faucets to get to the raw brass underneath. Might be worth searching for!

It's a hard Nope for faucets off of Etsy.

All faucets legitimately sold in US must be tested for lead, etc and meet NSF standards.

There are plenty of black and grey market faucets from China available over the internet which do not meet those standards. Don't buy them.

Getting replacement parts in 5-10 years is an issue also. Although many of these black market faucets use "off the shelf" cartridges, good luck finding those parts later.

See https://www.starcraftcustombuilders.com/sources.faucets.Best.Value.htm under the heading "Testing and Certification".

thanks for your replies. we decided to go with kind-of a normie delta faucet. We have hard water and our fixtures don't last forever anyway so we decided not to spend a fortune. Another thread on here talked us out of a bridge faucet because of difficulty cleaning between all the posts. For the record the closest real brand faucet to the style i was looking for was the kohler bridge faucet.

From personal experince, Brassna has absolutely no quality control and no consistency. What they advertise and what they send are two different things, and they say they can't see the difference. No pride of craftsmanship and terrible customer service. They really don't care. I would advise against ordering from them.

Do not buy a Brassna product! The company is a scam. The quality is horrible, and they do not refund money for the product or the return shipping. We are out about $600 and have been trying to get a refund for about a year with no luck.

Best to go with a reputable company. I’m loving the Delta Champagne Bronze fixtures here’s the one I’m installing in our new build https://amzn.to/4j7eIS5

Hello, would anyone who has had issues with Brassna please reply with their order number? Thank you in advance. Hopefully, we can help prevent others from falling for their scam.

We paid $550 for a brass kitchen faucet from Brassna last year. The kitchen faucet was broken and did not work. The company noted that we had to pay to ship back, but that they would reimburse us when they refunded us for the product. After shipping the item back, we were over $720 in the hole. It has taken months to go through customs, only for Brassna to reject the package and return to sender. 100% a scam.
