Next step- Runner Rug for the bathroom?

last year

Since it usually takes me so long usually to decide and act, I figure I 'd start now by asking for any suggestions.

My bathroom remodel is underway and I think in 2 more weeks it should be done.

Anyway, we do use mats/rugs in the room and I know I would love to find some nice ones- that will take me a while.

I'm thinking a runner rug like 7 or 8 feet longish could work nicely.

The walls are going to be SW North Star, the floors are

Vanity

chrome hardware,lights, black framed mirror,

The runner would theoretically be from the shower and in front of the vanity- maybe to the tub.

I am I am open to anything you might suggest and in general love traditional and transitional decor.

Most of what I already own ( as in towels and such) are dark blue and white . I'm open to anything

Look at Anthro, Urban Outfitters, Dash and Albert, World Market and Ruggables. I prefer bathroom rugs that look like rugs.

Something that picks up the color of the vanity could be nice

    Just a few quick ideas...

I just discovered these on Wayfair. I was looking for something for the kitchen.

I ordered 3 and kept them all.

They are easy to wash. They are very thin.

I'm thinking of a runner for my NY guest bath.

The only thing is, I'm not sure if it would be slippery when it would get wet when stepping out of the shower.

I guess I could try my small ones and see?

How large is your bathroom? I would hate for most of the floor to be covered and not enjoy the hex tiles.

Mtn those are beautiful--- and I thik I saw your leopard cheetah ones there too!

Eld yours are also really lovely. I think I've seen some of that material in stores and it struck me as well that it would be slippery but they sure look lovely. Maybe one for the shower and another small one ..

It's funny because after I posted this, I had the same thought about covering too much of the floor. We'll see. The area that is not the shower is about 12 feet wide by 7 feet long. I'm thinking I may have to consider a small something by the shower and then something in front of the vanity.

I do like the mat Mtn showed, I think I have a lot to reconsider here.

I think i would like to see the circled one that mtn showed. but i would only go a bit wider than your vanity and then if you can get a smaller one of same rug to lay outside shower door.

I just grabbed a few random examples from sources I know of, I didn't really go thru the sites at all

I have similair tile and change the runner frequently. My bathroom is small so hard to get good photos:

Very pretty wwbungalow- really nice rug.

Lyban- that is a good suggestion - I do like that pattern and the size in front of vanity would work and then a small one either of the same pattern or a towel/mat like Mtn shared.

Of course that one you circled is back ordered but will be available in May. I will definitely think on that.

Eld, your dog looks so perfect with that rug. I do like those rugs and may think about that for my kitchen at least in front of the sink for now.

I could also use a runner along the island- the side near the sink of course, but then it's more hidden by the island. They are so pretty that I'd love for it to be more seen. Maybe a small one by the sink and maybe a runner one on the other side of the island.

You've each given such nice suggestions. So helpful.
