1980 Ranch Home Exterior - Help!

Hi! My husband and I bought our home in the fall and are ready to paint the exterior this summer. I like the looks of the sage green and white, but would like to hear more options! Please see the image of our house. We will be doing landscaping this spring too!

Pale Sage, off white & black accents.

Maybe think about removing the shutters to make the facade less busy and more modern-looking.

And maybe also put in slightly beefier columns.

    Inspiration.
Definitely beef up the columns. That’s the first thing I’d do. And remove shutters.

Or sage for the secondary door so that the main front door is more prominent.

Nester's and Lisedv's mockups are great. I think a key part is to plant in front of the left hand side of your house with evergreens so there is some contrasting color to break up that area.

They did however give you stone cladding on the lower half of your house, built you a porch, and give you new garage doors with windows? Is that in the budget? If not, perhaps they can give you a new rendering that more accurately reflects your house and your budget so you can see what it would look like in all sage.

GREAT suggestions!! This will be a jewel when completed!!

Can anyone show the house completely white with a sage door? Trying to visualize that too. Thanks!

Yes, I like the sage suggested by nester44 for the secondary door, perhaps even the trim in sage to make it less visible.

Can you post a photo of the surface below the siding so that we can see what material that is exactly.

What color is your roofing. On the one picture your roof looks a darker gray but, all your trim looks brown??

    Roof is gray!

Here's the house in all white, black windows and main front door, white trim and wood accents.

I now see you have bricks below the siding, they look white and I'd have them the same colour as the siding. I suggest a warm white such as BM White Dove or BM Swiss Coffee, again test the paint colour before proceeding.

Love the sage. I would also use it for the garage doors to diminish the “walls“ of white that would pull too much focus. Keep the focus more for the front door/entry area. Yes to beefing up the columns.

Thank you everyone for the ideas! I love both the white and the sage colors. We have a tough decision ahead of us. If you have any more ideas, please keep them coming! Other colors are welcome too!

I am coming back to this. What about painting the house and brick the same color? Like the whole house a green or blue? I think the house being white is too much white with the garage doors. I am open to ALL suggestions and really need help visualizing. Thanks!!
