I had only seen it in hanging baskets (which I do not do) until I grew a bunch from seed. It may have been either Rob or Diggerdee -certainly someone on here who was eloquent in their praise of this plant....so obviously, I had an order in quicksmart. I tucked in little plants all over the place and look forward to them around the same time as anemone coronaria, arabis, antennaria, nemesia, campanulas and other creepers along the edges of my beds. They have not self seeded with the abandon of verbena bonariensis or v.rigida and some years, do not return at all but are easy from seed and always cheerful and welcome. While they do last until frosts, they really need a definite shearing (along with nemesia, linaria, gypsophila etc.) as they will diminish to rattiness without a hard cutback a coupla times.

Annoyingly, since Brexit, I have struggled to find seeds of a particularly deep purple and very floriferous selection from Ireland, so it has been absent from my garden for a couple of years since not a single plant managed to return last season
