Friday Music Thread (FNM) Regrets/Sorry/Sorrow

So we missed last week, and I feel sorry for not stepping up, so I thought the theme this week could be regrets - or even no regrets...?

His anthem of sorrow. The song of his life, and his impending death. A true poet.

I used to wake up to this song many mornings back in the day - This is the refrain that I thought fits the theme:

''Did I say that I need you? Did I say that I want you? Oh, if I didn't, I'm a fool, you see No one knows this more than me As I come clean''

    Thanks carol and everybody!

Speaking of songs to wake up to, that song, 'Amie' was one of my faves when I was a teen. I remember waking up to it on my radio alarm clock and singing along 🙂

I can't decide whether this heartbreaker is about regret or not, but it's definitely full of sorrow...

I Loved You Once In Silence/ Julie Andrews

Also sad to think that perfect voice is now silenced.

    I think this qualifies:

    Yesterday/ The Beatles

I Wish I Were In Love Again/Ella Fitzgerald

"...No more pain no more strain

    now I'm sane but ...

    I would rather be gaga!

The pulled-out fur of cat and cur

the fine mismating of a him and her

    I've learned my lesson,

but I wish I were in love again! ..."

I love this song. It isn't what you might expect. :-) . This was one of the you tube comments: Cole Porter wrote this song on a bet. While at lunch one day, he bet his friends he could write a song based on the next line they heard away from their table. A waiter appeared at a nearby table and declared, "Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today."
