in search of floraluk!! Desperate help needed again for posting photo

You so very kindly helped me to post photos for my on-going essay of 25 years of gardening, and I had a wonderful time doing it. As I recall, your method was quite easy once I got used to it. But after taking some time off from doing it, I have now lost the entire means to do it again. I am one of those folk who just cannot deal with modern technological stuff, and apparently am also one of those old dogs that cannot learn new tricks easily.

If you see this cry for help, could you let me know how to post my photos again? I would like to continue this thread if I can... I apologize for my dimwitted-ness!

Many thanks!

I am so sorry, rosaprimula! I loathe much of modern technology, as I just don't understand it. Someone told me to ask an eight-year old to explain things to me -- which is likely a very good idea. Kids today have it all under control, since they have grown up with computers as tho those machines are an integral body part, lol.

I would love to see YOUR gardens -- I have a favorite orange geum ('Cookie/Cooky') that is still hanging on but I can't locate a supplier any longer to get more. And I envy you being able to grow alstroemeria -- it is one of my favorite flowers, but not hardy here for me. However, I did get a small plug of one a couple of weeks ago that is new, and supposed to be hardy, so my hopes are high!

Go find an eight-year old! Don't give up!!

Rosa, could you post here from your phone? No need to move photos around then.

    Alstroemerias in flower now???

rosaprimula ...You can buy a cable, one end goes into your cell phone, the other into your Chromebook computer and pass photos between the two THAT way. It's easier.

Alstroemerias in flower - yep. See, I could take a photo as proof but you are just going to have to take my word for it. They are an outstanding plant - tall and vivid, and in bloom for months and months as long as I keep pulling the spent blooms. The cultivar name is 'Etna'. TBF, they do have the benefit of a tall, south-facing pale brick wall.

Once again, I am steeling myself for another attempt to sort this photo thing. Will indeed get 12 year old to help. I am going to try to post from the phone...I have a recollection that I have tried that, various times, when a screen pops up, baldly stating 'Chrome has stopped working'...and I never have any idea where to go after that.

Sigh, years ago, I was a perfectly competent user of Macs and Windows, able to upload, download, burn off CDs, use peer to peer (for torrents), CAD design, romp through most software etc.etc. Then my camera and PC died within weeks of each other. Chromebooks were cheap (and I was broke) and hyped as being the best for simpletons (not quite in those words but I am sure you get the gist). I resisted a smartphone until the pandemic when the offspring nagged me almost to death, but I have never really got on board with them (spends more time in a drawer than in actual use). Have become almost a Luddite (and definitely a shy and socially awkward recluse, so I bloody loved lock-down).

I use my android phone and this is what I see. I comment in the comment box and directly underneath I click on Houzz Photo, which takes me to my photo gallery. I click on the photo I wish to share, and a button saying Add Photo should appear and I click on that. It takes a few seconds, but sometimes longer but the photo should appear where I want it, and once the photo uploads it will darken and the button underneath the photo that says insert will also darken and then I click on insert and the photo is posted. If the House Photo button doesnt work, then try clicking on Photo to the left. Sometimes Houzz has glitches and only the photo button works. Ignore the word screenshot in the comments. My phone thought I was dictating my comment but I just wanted a screenshot, I was dictating a command. I hope this helps.

My phone is also android and I open the photos directly on the phone. There's nothing in Houzz photo because I don't use it. The method I described works on my PC too. If Roxanna also doesn't use Houzz photo she'll need to just click 'photo'.
