I had a 20' X 20' room with windows on three sides in my previous house. It was an addition before I moved in. There wasn't room for a dining area and sitting area, but my room had a traffic pattern from the back door to the kitchen on one side and a slider on another side. I don't know what size sitting area you're thinking of. Is it meant just for conversation, no TV? How much seating were you thinking of? Can you show us a floorplan of what your space is going to look like and its relationship to existing spaces? Are any of the windows going to be sliders or will there be a door to the outside somewhere?

There will be a door on the bsck side going outside. it has an opening going into the kitchen. i sm thinking of putting the dining table at the front of the room and then have seating on the left no tv just 2 comfy chairs. would like to have chandelier over table and maybe a ceiling fan as you come intonthe room.

The lighting you're considering will work better if the ceiling is going to be flat. Even then, I'm not sure it won't look odd. I had a lot of shade on my property and my similar room didn't get hot in the summer, so maybe you won't need a fan. Fans look best centered in rooms. Let's see what the pros say, but I know they're going to want to see a floorplan drawing. The pictures help, but a floorplan is better. Show the furniture arrangement you're proposing on the drawing.

There may be two hundred ways to arrange seating and dining area in a 20 x 20 space.

Where is the entry point.....How many will dine out here and what size table? which end is the opening to the kitchen?

Draw a floor plan with entry, exit points and more information as to how many using what?

You will have a table to perhaps dine with, four? six, and then only two chairs for seating? .................????: ) Really?
