gold bathroom fixtures/delta champagne bronze

Okay-so we are currently in the process of building a house and we originally bought some faucets/shower stuff in delta champagne bronze (which I loved) but after reading some stuff on here about how hard it is to match I’m now wondering if we should switch to a gold color by another company? What other brands do you guys recommend?

What else are you trying to match? You can get accessories in the same color from delta.

I used the Brizo Luxe Gold in my master bathroom, which is a similar color. I had no problem pairing it up with shower door hinges from C.R. Laurence, shower baskets from Kartners, Shower/grab bar from Jaclo and shower head from Speakman.

The main thing is the freestanding tub faucet. We really don’t want to spend 1500 dollars on a delta one. I’ve found some cabinet hardware and light fixtures that will match through some other discussions on here.

Have you looked at a tub that will take a deck mounted faucet?

I my previous house I had bought a really expensive tub and freestanding faucet, but we never take baths and no one ever saw the fancy tub and faucet. When we built I looked for something that looked nice, but was cheaper.

I used this tub from Maax and the matching Brizo Luxe Gold deck mounted faucet.

Faucets is not an area that I would skimp on. You want quality, durability, good customer service and value for your plumbing fixtures, and Delta gets good reviews for that.

If you do not want to spend $1500 on a faucet, don't put in a tub that requires that type of faucet. They never get used anyway, so you‘ve wasted 4K+ on space wasting ornamentation. Design your bath for the way you live, not some fantasy life for an unknown future buyer that doesn't exist.

I'd go with simple, CLASSIC chrome. At some point something will need to be replaced, and -- yes -- matching today's trendy colors will be difficult. No one will ever say, "Yuck, they went with plain old chrome", but in a decade they may say, "Can you believe they chose that flash-in-a-pan color?"

Agree, go with quality -- having plumbing fixed is a major headache, and a drip can ruin your floors, etc.

Agree. A tub is an example of a build-item that can bring in a great number of add-on costs. BUT I don't agree that tubs are never used; sometimes ours is used more than once in a day -- I agree with you that the point is, Buy for your real life, not for aspirational ideas or potential resale.
