Run desk level shelving along the TV wall up to where kitchen starts. (Get rid of the fake plant.) That will be your TV desk/monitor side as shown in both photos below. Imagine both of the wall table/desktops below with an "ell" at the kitchen end for eating while you face the windows--like a short peninsula. A setup like that would connect your space better and provide function. You could add floating shelves on top and bookcase shelves below TV for office storage.

The desk you have works as a desk but nothing else. It occupies too much space to allow for a little eating peninsula. You need something under the TV in any case to make everything connect.

Do a search for " L shaped desk." to get the idea. Wayfair has a bunch. Once you have a model, get someone to customize it for you--basiically long, attractive table top across TV wall with space for monitor and keyboard and a short "L" peninsula facing the windows for your dining table.

Here's a small perpendicular table from Bed, Bath, Beyond online that could be paired with white desk top across TV wall. Check measurements though because you don't want a high top for everyday dining.
