Window grills on this ranch’s okna windows?

This house has vinyl cedar shakes by certain-teed. I was thinking only an idea), about putting a vertical over the horizontal on each bay flanker. The door is a shaker door with vertical grills, which is repeated in the garage door windows. The one in the pic is wrong, due to install error.
This picture shows that I have double hungs as flankers. Since I’m switching to casements there, I figure it might be an opportunity for SDL grills. I could put a horizontal half way, and one vertical in the center in that upper space. I would leave all others as is, except for the kitchen window, I would echo that simple configuration on the triple kitchen window: Casement-fixed-casement. Do you think it’s just too much, or is there another idea I should weigh? Thanks!

This is this one I circled here I was thinking of.

It is indeed just too much. The window to our right is more appealing visually. But a bear to clean. I vote for the double hungs as shown in your photo. That is MY taste.

No. The house does not need random grids that reference a completely different style architecture.

Thanks. I see a lot of ranches in my area with the colonial grids, and it looks like overkill to me. Some of them just do the bay window, which looks a little out of balance. I thought perhaps a tiny add to the bay window might be okay…but also as you say it’s likely “ too much or random.”

I could just have the same windows over again, which is kind of a nice clean look. The guy across the street from recently got plain casements flankers next to his bay, and that just kinda wrong too ( like something is missing). If I do casement flankers, perhaps just a horizontal grill where the DH sash would have been make it look like the double hungs. Or is it best to just get the double hungs with the bay? I like the idea of the casements because they’re easier than throwing a window up, and it looks kind of cute when they’re open, with a nice breeze. They are a more expensive option though. thanks so much for your helpful with this. It’s helpful to think it through with others. :)

Here’s three examples of houses that are sort of like mine.
One can see how there’s a different grid treatment for the bay window in two cases. In another case, they just went with a bow window, which presents very well. That is a more expensive option, and to some looks more updated. I ask so see the reverse, where the grills are on the smaller windows, while the bay is left without grills. I just think, considering I have no peaks, I’ve got to be careful with adding grills. The original windows had horizontal grills, on all the windows. They looked very nice in Andersen wood, so it makes one imagine that somehow grids might be okay. I just don’t what the specific rules are.

    No. Grids.

Aww. Thanks. Would you do casement flankers or stick with the double-hungs?

Ooh boy. This started months ago. I contacted this local company because I wanted to check out the Starmark and 600s after being referred by the Pennsylvania HQ. First contact there, verified that they do carry both the Starmark and the 600. I then gave the info to my contractor…. Long story, now after all this time and wrangling, it looks like they carry neither! A short quote earlier this week showed up as for the 800s, and this latest showed up surprisingly for the 500s! My guess is they don’t have the 600s or the Starmarks at all, and felt okay about stringing me along! Honestly, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I wouldn’t have gone beyond that first call, had I known. It’s way late, and I’ve got to get moving. I really wanted 600s for the features. The 500s slip, which defeats the whole low infiltration number hoopla. I need them to stay up. I know the 800s have the anti slip feature, but have a bulkier frame, which is problematic, since the windows are already small inserts. Any advice? 🥺
