I believe this fixture arms can be adjusted into different configurations. This fixture should fit your space.

Your home looks traditional. Are you sure you want something this contemporary in the foyer? I would not select brass. I would consider black and brass just not brass alone.

This is a bit of a tricky one in terms of "entry light" bc you will want it to illuminate the stairwell and entry but also visually it will mostly be seen from the top of the stairs. the idea is to have it hang with in the window view. So from the outside at night it can be seen through the window as well. That is a big window, you could fill the window or slightly beyond, or you could do more of a large lantern style.

Whats missing is your style, the front door seems a bit craftsman/traditional to me as well as the staircase.

Thank you both! The front door is craftsman but we tend to like the contemporary lighting and furniture. For example, we like mid century modern, Scandinavian and japandi styles. I think I now have a sense for shapes and size, so now it’s about finding something I like. I like Beverly’s idea of black since it will pop. I’ve thought about a rattan sphere too, but the ones I like tend to look summery to me. I want to avoid ordering something and then it doesn’t work and I have to send it back (we don’t live near good stores like cb2, crate and barrel, westelm, rejuvenation etc) unfortunately.

IMO a fixture that is long enought to bot be seen in the window and light the enty space so maybe something like this idea

We finally installed something yesterday, over a year after our original post! I know our door is a craftsman style and this light is contemporary/modern, but we really love it and are so thrilled with how it looks from every angle, especially from the outside. It’s 32” wide and we set up the rods so that it’s 53.5” long.
